As of Feb 19, 2024, the wtdhpl.info website is back up and running. Operations are normal. Thanks for your patience.
On Aug 31, 2023, our virtual private server (VPS) provider, DesiVPS, notified us that their upstream provider, Dedipath, was going out of business effective immediately. The news was posted in an online forum at the time. Dedipath encouraged all customers (that's us) to "Please migrate your data and take backups as soon as possible" in the literally hours remaining until the shutdown. As ours is a fairly low-traffic site, with relatively light management duties, we didn't respond to the notification in time and our previous website disappeared into the void when the plug was pulled.
Rather than restore our heavy-ish former wordpress site from backups, we decided to rebuild our site essentially from scratch in simple php/html, so that our site would be a better match with the simplicity of the license itself. This was a rather low-priority endeavor, in keeping with the amount of feedback we had been receiving (nearly none) and the amount of donations that we had received when cryptocurrency donations were open (none). It was important that we complete the effort, however, and it's now done.
The text of the pages of the former website is largely restored, as is the text of a small selection of still-relevant articles, under our new, simpler php/html design. No external files, domains, or pages are loaded or referenced by our site, and no commercial advertising is accepted or shown. We don't employ "analytics" or tracking (other than basic web server logging). None of the pages or files is "minified" or obfuscated in any deliberate way.
